Benicar (the generic name Olmesartan) is a drug which is very effective in treating patients with high blood pressure. Olmesartan is generally mentioned by its brand name as Benicar. This particular drug is used to control the blood vessel contraction, thereby lowering the blood pressure and supporting in improving the flow of the blood. It is basically used to treat high blood pressure also known as hypertension in adults and children about the age of six years. The doctor could prescribe this medication along with other blood pressure medicine if the patient is suffering from high blood pressure.
Uses of Benicar

Information about the dosage
Take as per the doctor’s prescription, the usual dosage for adults is 20 mg orally one time in a day, the doctor could ask you to increase the dosage to 40 mg within a duration of 2 weeks if your blood pressure has to be further reduced. If you have missed a dose, do not take 2 doses together, it could result in damagingly your body. In case of overdose, seek medical help immediately.
